THE CONCEPT

With the September 18th Independence Referendum in Scotland there is much debate about whether Scotland would be best as an independent nation. I am of the opinion that the people of Scotland can make it a vibrant place either way the vote goes. This is an optimistic perspective, but with hope, belief and a positive mind, anything is achievable. The supporters of the union have an optimistic perspective of the status quo, their glass is half full. However some are fearful of going it alone.

I feel that a vote through fear is a pessimistic approach, and that voters should be concentrating on positivity when making their decision either way.

The paintings often depict a bright, vibrant, defined foreground describing the present with greyed, undefined, more blurred distant elements. This represents our undefined, uncertain future, that with positive energy and optimism will become our vibrant present.
