Recently my paintings ‘The 3 sisters of Glencoe’ and ‘Arran Sky’ were installed as prints in the Morblas restaurant at Hilton, Glasgow.

The prints are a pretty big 144 x 124cm image size with paper floated into a black frame. They hang at each entrance of the side by side doors at the Morblas seafood and Grill restaurant. The whole restaurant is looking great now (if I do say so myself) and apparently there is soon to be a brand new menu unveiled.

Both scenes of the Isle of Arran and Glencoe are an easy drive from Glasgow and I’d like to think of the tourists coming over and getting some ideas about where to visit around Scotland. Big chain hotels have a tendency to go for generic, mass market inoffensive images and photographs. However it is nice to see that Hilton have chosen to represent a local artist and are displaying a limited print of which there are only 19 other copies of!

Maybe I can dine in there and pay in paintings!

Incidentally, I sent off the original painting of ‘Arran Sky’ to Ohio, USA today. Great to send it out to the states, however nice to know a piece of it still hangs in Glasgow.

  1. I just noticed that your original “Arran Sky” is in Ohio Usa can you tell me where? I am in Ohio and would love to see it in person. Your work is beautiful. I was looking at your work and hoping that there may be some signed prints available somewhere? I would love something large, but An original is out of my budget right now.
    Thank you,
    Eileen

      1. Hi Scott,
I did look through all your signed limited edition prints and I hope to save up for one. I wanted something that would make a real statement.I have a very large neutral wall space in my house that I am working on and I felt your artwork would be fantastic in it. It exudes such joy and calmness. But I felt the size was important. So I ended up purchasing Arran Glow from ICanvas in the largest size and I think I will get it framed. I do wish it was signed by you. I know it is not the same and the colors in Arran Sky are incredible. I really would love to see your paintings in person. Are there any in the United States in Public spaces in some major cities in case we are traveling?

Hi Eileen, the only place at the moment in the US is Fulton Market Gallery in Chicago. Contact them before visiting to make sure they still have original paintings there. They are also affiliated with iCanvas in that the owner is a creative director of iCanvas. I did the LA Art show and a few other US fairs this year through Villa Del Arte in Barcelona, but not sure what availability there will be to do this again for 2017.
